SAP Finland and Smilehouse sign a partnership agreement

Software company Smilehouse has signed a partnership agreement with
SAP Finland. Along with the agreement Smilehouse Workspace and SAP Business One software are linked compatible with each other.

Due to the integration customers will receive an operational management solution of a small and medium-sized enterprise and an e-commerce solution as a one complete package.

Workspace is a packaged software in the same way as Business One and its
e-commerce solution is meant for both business-to-consumer and business-to-business commerce.

Updating the product data to web and managing sales orders manually are time consuming tasks when company’s business is growing. With a help of software integration, product data can automatically be transferred from operational management solution to e-commerce. Also the order data is transferred from e-commerce to operational management. This reduces the working time consumed for managing orders and product data. At the same time the level of customer service is improving due to the real time and automatically updating product data and the rapid order management.

”We have customers from all industries and all sizes,” said business development manager Jaakko Hallavo, Smilehouse Oy. “In the first stage we have reached mainly b-to-b companies, but the consumer sector is growing constantly. In the future also the service sector is transferring more and more service processes to the web.”

The integration work between SAP Business One and Smilehouse has already been made and the pilot project is finished. The first stage has been significant and time consuming, but from now on the customers are able to get their e-commerce solution for use in just a few days. However, implementation always requires configuration and testing. Duration of the implementation of e-commerce depends on the customer’s industry and the functional expectations set to the service.

”The partnership of SAP Finland and Smilehouse has started from a shared end customer project,” said Janne Karonsuo, who is responsible of Business One products at SAP Finland. ”In addition, Smilehouse has started to use SAP Business One system in its own functions.”

The partnership agreement obligates Smilehouse to maintain a link between their own and the SAP software according as Business One is updated with new versions. Therefore the package offered by SAP and Smilehouse is a safe comprehensive solution for the customer.

Smilehouse Workspace enables creating either closed or open e-commerce systems. Workspace includes features for building, developing and managing an integrated e-commerce site. Workspace enables managing and distributing product information and related documents, receiving orders, invitation of bids and payments from various interfaces and managing customer information, customer accounts and user privileges. SAP Business One is a software solution designed especially for growing businesses. It is an affordable option to businesses, who want an operational management solution which is diverse, but also simple to use. SAP Business One solution is delivered as a complete package, which includes all the necessary tools to manage the data and transactions of the company. The delivery includes financial management, accounting, reporting, logistics and customer managemet, among others.
